Micki's Testimony
We recently spent some time in North Carolina which meant Sunday mornings at Grace! When we arrived I was not long out of the hospital because of an intestinal blockage. I was unable to eat any food that was hard to digest such as broccoli, nuts, fresh fruits and vegetables – basically all the things I love to eat! Of the foods I could eat, even very small amounts caused acute pain and distress. For most of the two weeks in the mountains I was on a liquid diet and rapidly losing weight. The doctors had told me it would likely be months before my system returned to normal.
On the second Sunday morning you spoke briefly about God’s healing power. Now, this wasn’t new news! At our home church in Florida we have a vibrant healing ministry which I’ve been a part of for over ten years. Well, duh, I could ask for prayer right there …in North Carolina…at Grace! So I did. After the service, you and your wonderful prayer warriors prayed over me and I was deeply touched afterwards to see how many of your congregation had come forward to pray as well.
One of the things I’ve learned about God’s healing power is that in His sovereignty He heals when He wants to – sometimes instantly; sometimes through doctors, surgery, and medication; sometimes the ultimate healing is when He takes us home to Himself. So although I felt no different that day and the next, I was perfectly content to wait on His timing. Tuesday morning when I woke up I knew something was different. I can’t describe exactly what but I knew it was okay to begin to reintroduce solid foods into my diet. By Saturday I was completely pain free and able to eat small amounts of basically anything I wanted, including every one of the forbidden foods the doctors warned me about.
Since returning home I continue to improve, my weight has finally stabilized, I have a wonderful testimony to share with my Florida family, and my own faith in His healing power has been strengthened exponentially as I pray for others to be healed.
God is good! All the time! And all the time! God is good!
